In his early days James Ride (formerly known as DJ Ride) was influenced by funk, electro and rock music. He studied drumming for 10 years, since he discovered in the 90ies the new Deep House / Techno sounds and become a DJ. With a drummers-background he developed an excellent mixing-technic for setting the dancefloors on fire.

In the late 90ies James Ride was signed by one of the biggest music-agences in Switzerland „Pleasure Productions“ and got the opportunity to play at the biggest shows in Switzerland like Streetparade Zürich, Openair Frauenfeld, Openair Gampel, Openair St.Gallen and club-gigs like Q-Club Zürich, other big events and countries.

In 2001 he made contact to the saxophone-jazz-legend from Switzerland, Tommy Inderbinen. A great musical and private friendship was started. Ride & Inderbinen played in the past 16 years lot of great Deep House liveshows all across Switzerland and Ibiza, and did some studiowork and releases too.
One of the highlights was the recidency at the legendary Midnight-Sessions at Kornhauskeller Bern for years.

In 2009 James Ride founded the House-Label „Push On Music“ together with Terry Lex. „Push On Music“ released tracks from great international Artists like Booker T, Kenny Bobien, Matt Caseli or Shane D.

The first release under the pseudonym „DJ Ride“ was the Single „Streetlife“. „Streetlife“ was played on the Housepacific Radio Show from Christian Hornbostel and become a big success. The track was also released on the Official Streetparade Chill House CD 2010 by k-Tel and reached the Top-20 of the Official Swiss Album-Charts.

In July 2011 the „Push On Music Ibiza Sampler“ was placed at number 6 on the international Traxsource Album Download-Charts, another highlight.

In Autumn 2011 James Ride released with the Disco-Band Deepsession a couple of tracks and played unforgettable live-shows. With the single and video “Do it Like That” Deepsession releases the first joint production with the R&B Singer and MC Lenell Brown. The track is an intoxicating dance song with disco elements and a strong vocal hook. For the mixing and mastering two American Masterminds are responsible. Mixing James Hoover (Grammy Award Winner, Beyoncé, ZZ Top, Lionel Richie, Rolling Stones, Depeche Mode) and mastering John Moran (participation in several gold and platinum albums, Grammy- and Oscar-winning-productions). The result is a top level production.

September 2014 DJ Ride‘s „Dark Side of the Moog“ reached with the Ibiza End Sampler 2014 the Top-10 Album Charts on Traxsource.

October 2014 James Ride had the Pleasure to play at the 10 Years Birthdayparty of the biggest music-magazine in Switzerland called „Rckstr“ at Maag Areal Zürich.

In Dezember 2014 James Ride was droping his Mix-Serie „Deep at Night“ on Beatport with a big Success!! Mix Vol. 4 entered the international Beatport Mix-Charts on Place No. 9 „Deep at Night Best of“, on Place No. 19 Mix Vol. 5 on Place No. 15, „Ride on Time“ on Place No. 12 and Deep Underground on Place No. 13! And James Ride was placed at No. 12 by Beatports TOP DJs from over 600‘000 DJs worldwide!!!!!

Push On Music was going more and more into Vocal and Commercial House and James Rides passion is strictly real Deep House, Tech House and Techno. So that was the point DJ Ride transformed into his alter ego. James Ride was born. He left Push On Music and created his own noncommercial indipendent Deep Tech Techno Label called „DeepStreet Records“. A lot of releases, shows, events and hot projects started in 2016.
Right now, Deepstreet is a well known Label for Club-Music and Events.

In 2019 James Ride founded a Live-Act-Project with Andreas Kühnrich (Cello) and Dave Knobs (Machines).
